Description
The Mechanical Release Mechanism (MRM) utilizes fusible link heat detection to detect a fire which triggers the MRM to release a pressurized Nitrogen Cartridge. The pressure from this cartridge opens the tank valves on the pressurized agent tanks allowing the KP agent to flow into the discharge piping. The KP agent travels through the piping and out the nozzles to suppress a fire in the hood plenum, duct and the cooking appliances. The appliance protection nozzles are evenly spaced throughout the hood creating a hazard zone that allows for appliance movement with a simple estimation process. Appliance specific coverages are also available, but require more details to protect the hazard properly. The Amerex KP system can also be manually activated from a remote manual pull station 10-20’ from the cooking appliances. Both automatic detection and manual activation options will close a gas shut off valve and trigger micro switches for electrical shutdowns and notifications to fire and building control systems (contact factory for pricing)
